Micro-Finance Research Sub Centre
Micro-Finance Research Sub-Centre at CIMP, sponsored by Bankers Institute of Rural Development (BIRD Lucknow) promoted by National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), has conducted research on Cost- Structure and other complexities in scaling up of operations of small Micro-Finance Institutions in Bihar. The centre has completed research in high priority areas of Microfinance in the context of Bihar, so that policy makers in Government and financial institutions will devise and design appropriate managerial models. CIMP will help the development of new managerial concepts for overcoming organizational issues involved in Microfinance. This will increase the effectiveness of micro level organizations and their activities. Four research projects have been completed till date and several projects are ongoing. CIMP is also conducting research on customization of Micro-Finance products in flood affected areas of Eastern Region. The Sub-Centre proposes to help in building-up the database of MFIs in the country and prepare the road-map for Micro-Finance in Bihar. CIMP is the first management institute in the country to have got the honour of having a sub centre of microfinance research of an apex organization (BIRD). The institute has created history by achieving the milestones in research within a short span of time. The sub-centre has been helpful to boost the microfinance activities by bridging the critical gap, which is the need of the hour for the poverty stricken people of Eastern India. The Principal Research Co-ordinator of Sub-center for Microfinance Research is Sri B. L. Mishra.

Centre for Micro-Enterprises Management
In India, this centre is the first initiative of its kind. Microenterprises are emerging as facilitators of economic activities, helping relatively poor and marginalized sections of the society living on the periphery of the main society. In India, micro enterprises, especially dealing with Microfinance activities, are increasing at a very fast pace.
Centre for Agri-Business Management
The centre will focus on imparting training, research and consulting support to small-scale and large-scale business enterprises in India. As the Government of India is focusing on this sector with huge investments, Bihar can show the path and be a beneficiary.
Centre for Social Entrepreneurship
The centre will initiate training and action research programmes on various dimensions of entrepreneurship in the socio–economic-cultural context of Bihar. This centre will contribute towards developing new entrepreneurial initiatives, with the objective of transforming business professionals into social entrepreneurs.
Centre for Water Management
This centre has been set up to carry out research on the practices in water management in Bihar and other developing Eastern Indian states. This centre will facilitate the convergence of research and policy analysis related to water management in Eastern India and Bihar.
In addition to research centers, CIMP faculty is actively engaged in consulting assignments for various industries and Government bodies. These typically include management development programs & other training activities for professionals, carrying out survey and analysis to recommend changes in public policies.
